And guess what? Abraham chose to trust God!

Today we’re going to learn how we can trust God too—and put Him first in our hearts.

2. Bible Story for Kids (10 Minutes)

Story Title: Abraham Trusts God

Long before this story, God made Abraham a very special promise.

God told Abraham,
“I will give you a son, and your family will grow into a big, beautiful nation.”

But Abraham and his wife Sarah were very old, and they had no children. Still, Abraham believed God.

And God kept His promise! 🎉
They had a son, and they named him Isaac.

Isaac was very special.
He was not just Abraham’s son—he was God’s promise come true.
Abraham loved Isaac very much.

Now, in Bible times, people would sometimes give an offering to God.

👉 An offering is something you give to God to show your love, your trust, and that He is first in your life.

One day, God asked Abraham to trust Him in a very big way.

God told Abraham to go on a journey to a mountain with Isaac…
and Abraham understood that he was going to give Isaac as an offering.

This was very hard.
Abraham loved his son so much.

But this is something very important:

👉 God was not trying to hurt Abraham
👉 God was testing Abraham’s love and trust

God wanted to see if Abraham would put Him first.

Abraham didn’t understand everything…
but he knew something very important:

👉 God is always good
👉 God always keeps His promises

So Abraham chose to trust God.

Abraham and Isaac walked together up the mountain.

Isaac said,
“Father, we have everything we need… but where is the offering?”

Abraham gently answered,
“God will provide.”

When they reached the top of the mountain, Abraham showed he was ready to obey God.

But right at that moment…

God called out,
“Abraham, stop!”

God saw Abraham’s heart.
He knew Abraham truly loved Him and trusted Him.

And guess what?

God provided a ram—so Isaac did not have to be the offering.

What This Means for Us

• God sees our hearts
• God doesn’t want to hurt us—He loves us
• God provides what we need
• We can trust God—even when we don’t understand
• God wants to be first in our lives

3. Heart Connection Teaching (5 Minutes)

Sometimes trusting God can feel hard.

Maybe you prayed for something and it didn’t happen right away.
Maybe something didn’t go the way you wanted.
Or maybe God is asking you to do something that feels difficult—like sharing, obeying, or waiting.

Let me tell you a simple story:

A little girl had a favorite teddy bear. She loved it so much and took it everywhere. One day, her mom asked her to give it to a younger child who didn’t have any toys.

She didn’t want to. She held it tight and felt sad.

But then she remembered…
her mom loved her and would never ask her to do something bad.

So slowly, she gave it away.

Later, something surprising happened—she felt happy inside. Not because she lost something, but because she trusted and did what pleased God.

How Do We Put God First and Trust Him Fully?

Tell the kids:

“Abraham showed us what it looks like to trust God. But how can we do that in our everyday life?”

1. We Talk to God First (Pray)

Explain:
Before we make choices or when we feel worried, we talk to God.

Example:
👉 “God, help me make a good choice.”
👉 “God, I trust You.”

2. We Choose to Obey God

Explain:
Even when it’s hard, we do what is right.

Example:
👉 Sharing when we don’t want to
👉 Telling the truth
👉 Listening to parents/teachers

3. We Trust God When We Don’t Understand

Explain:
Sometimes things don’t make sense—but we still trust God.

Example:
👉 Waiting for an answer
👉 Things not going our way

Say:
“Abraham didn’t understand everything—but he trusted God.”

4. We Give God Our Best
