(Food, sleep, family, sunshine, clothes…)

2. BIBLE STORY — God Sends Manna from Heaven (Exodus 16)

Time: 10–12 minutes

Teacher Background (not to read fully to kids)

The Israelites left Egypt and entered the desert. There was no food. The people complained. God answered with manna — bread from heaven that arrived every morning. God used this miracle to teach them trust.

Bible Story for Kids

“After God rescued His people from Egypt, they walked through a huge desert. After a while, their food ran out.
They got hungry… and they complained.
But God still loved them.
He said, ‘I will send food from heaven.’

The next morning, when the people woke up, the ground was covered with tiny white flakes — it was called manna!
God sent fresh manna every day, just enough for that day.

God was teaching His people that He would take care of them — one day at a time.”

Visual Idea

Sprinkle tiny white paper pieces (like confetti) on the floor.
Say: “This is what manna might have looked like — food from heaven!”

DISCUSSION & APPLICATION (5–7 minutes)

Main Teaching Points

• God knows exactly what you need.
• God might not give us everything we want, but He always gives what we need.
• When we say “thank You,” we show we trust Him.

Application to Kids’ Lives

Ask:
• “When you feel hungry, who provides your food?”
• “When you need clothes, who takes care of that?”
• “When you need love and safety, who provides that?”

Help kids see that God works through parents, family, and His world to care for them.

3. MEMORY VERSE (5 minutes)

Philippians 4:19

“And my God will supply all your needs according to His riches in glory in Christ Jesus.”
